Athletic Recruiting Timeline

Sophomore Year

  • Discuss differences between D1, D2, and D3

  • Consider what student wants academically, socially, and athletically from college

  • Start a list of potential colleges

  • Establish athletic narrative for your sport that aligns with your college search process

  • NCSA, Recruit Spot, etc.

Junior Year: Grind Time

  • Narrow college list

  • Start verbal & email outreach to coaches

  • Start planning in-person visits

  • Send unofficial transcripts in spring

Summer Before Senior Year

  • Continue unofficial visits

  • Continue verbal & email outreach to coaches

  • Complete applications with your Applications Coach

Senior Year Fall

  • Start official visits after the first day of school

  • Make final decisions on where you want to spend the next four years!
