Sophia David

TEST PREP INSTRUCTOR

Sophia grew up in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania and graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Yale with a degree in Global Affairs and a certificate in Chinese. After graduation, she spent a year in Beijing as a Light Fellow deepening her Mandarin before beginning her J.D. at Duke in Fall 2026.

Her tutoring experience spans students of diverse ages and backgrounds: she served as a peer tutor at Yale, volunteered with North Korean defectors, and supported children of refugees and immigrants at an after-school program in New Haven. She believes effective teaching begins with understanding each student's unique background and context, and works to build strong relationships and tailor her approach to individual needs, helping students develop both confidence and lasting academic skills.

Outside the classroom, Sophia enjoys running, swimming, playing the piano, and exploring creative hobbies from embroidery to macramé.
